Tornike Rijvadze meets the UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia Didier Trebucq

Tornike Rijvadze, the Chairman of Autonomous Republic of Ajara met with the newly appointed UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia Didier Trebucq.

Tornike Rijvadze congratulated Didier Trebucq on his appointment to the new position and introduced him to the economic opportunities and tourist potential of the region. At the meeting, the active work of the United Nations Organization in Ajara was emphasized. Willingness for future cooperation was expressed.

Cooperation between Georgia and the United Nations has been successfully developing for more than two decades and covers a number of areas, including agriculture, health care, education, and environmental protection. The work of the organization in the direction of human rights protection was especially emphasized at the meeting.
