Rehabilitation of Rustaveli and Gogebashvili streets begins in Batumi

Rehabilitation of Rustaveli and Gogebashvili streets has begun in Batumi. Today, the Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Tornike Rijvadze, together with the Mayor of Batumi, Archil Chikovani, inspected the works.

The project involves replacing the existing paving stones with a three-layer asphalt surface. Underground communications, a sidewalk, curbs, a median strip with green cover and decorative plants, safety islands, traffic lights and road signs will be installed.

During the works, municipal buses will operate on a changed route until the end of May. Also, two-way traffic has been restored on Ninoshvili, Griboedov and Chavchavadze streets. Meanwhile, traffic was restricted in both directions on Rustaveli Street - in the section between Aleksandre Griboedov and Demetre Tavdadebuli streets.

The Batumi Municipality leaders and deputies of the Supreme Council of Ajara were acquainted with the ongoing works on Rustaveli Street.
